Developer Vernacular
As a freelancer, I often work from start to finish on any given project. The only people I explain my work to are clients, designers, marketing specialists, and managers. In these cases, common vernacular or business terms do the job.
There have been times I became so accustomed to this approach that I found myself tongue-tied when talking with other developers. There are a myriad of terms and expressions used exclusively within the realm of development, and when you don’t find yourself using them often, they can get lost.
This is the first in a series of posts to help describe terms and phrases that weren’t originally apparent in my dev education, written for the developer who came to the craft through an unconventional path.
